I am optimistic for humanity.

I believe it is possible for us as a group of people to rise above our bad nature and enter into unity with each other.

Humanity has failed to do it for so long. We have had selfishness fester in our hearts, let greed overcome our mind, and have had our souls succumb to hatred.

But, I believe it is possible for us to come together to be a loving source and rise above the things that drag us down, and that it is possible for us to resist the powers of Evil!

You tell me: should we just sit here, “accepting the reality” that we all just really suck deep down… Or can we try to rise above it? Try to bring change to our race? Try to bring love into the world?

Our capability for love as a species is so evident in the life around us! If we open our eyes and our minds, we will see it! I refuse to let anyone put down my idealism, to try and explain the horrors of the human condition to me and how it is so utterly impossible to get over it!

But with the power of Love, we can do it! The one who is Love, created Love, and has made us in Love’s image.

We can do it, guys. Do not ever let anyone put you down!

We can do it, guys!!

On the topic of Extroversion and Introversion

I have figured out why introversion is (rightfully so) associated with social awkwardness, and why extroversion is associated with the lack of it.

When you are acting in an “introverted” mode, you are currently living in the inner world; interaction with the outside world is unexpected and unprepared for when in this world. But when you are acting in an “extroverted” mode, you are currently living in the outer world; interaction is expected and prepared for.

I wish to pin down the mechanics of this more precisely in the future, but for now, I start with this precedent.

I put this together after thinking about my experience as an introvert who has “extroverted” moments where I am excited and love to interact with the outer world. I noticed how when operating in a more “introverted” mode (which is my dominant mode) I acted in socially awkward ways. But when acting in an “extroverted” mode I wasn’t subject to social awkwardness nearly as much.

Best lesson from a Disney movie

This is an underrated movie

This is a grossly underrated movie.

Can I take a minute to rant? Good. Cuz I’m gonna.

I FLOVE this movie. And I HATE all the stupid hatred it gets. For a long time the buzz was “finally a black princess yay!” and now everyone is like “Fuck this movie, first black princess and she spends the whole movie a frog.”

You know what? Fuck that. Because Ariel spent a good majority of the movie not talking. Mulan spent the majority of the move pretending to be a man. Aurora and Snow White? Asleep (Hardly in the movie at all). They’re all just plot devices, not designed to take away from the traits of the women.

And you know what else? Unlike some of the other princesses, Tiana is in control of her destiny every step of the way. When she turns into the frog does she lose hope and need rescuing? Hell naw. She busts Naveen over the head and gets the job done. She is consistently responsible and capable even after having her dreams crushed and turning into a freaking frog.

So don’t tell me that Tiana is “less than” just because she gets turned into a frog. She’s still one of the most hardworking, badass, and capable chicks in animated history and I love her like crazy cakes.

the end.

Also? She’s based on a real person. A real woman who is 91 and is still cooking in her kitchen. She’s still widely respected in the culinary community, she’s fed presidents, she’s had songs written about her and her restaurants. She’s 91, and she still wakes up every morning to run things, because she still believes in hard work and good food. And if you don’t think that’s truly fantastic, then you can just fuck right off.

These dudes are fucking legit.  They don’t just show up one day in court, either, they actually make friends with the kids and let them know they have a support system and that there are people in the world who care about them and will always have their back.  And less important, but also cool, is that the few times a couple of them have come into my cafe, they’ve been super friendly and polite and when I told one of the guys that I noticed his Bikers Against Child Abuse patch and wanted him to know how awesome I thought he was because of it, he got kind of shy and blushed and said, “The kids are the awesome ones, we just let them know they’re allowed to be brave.”

Needs to be reblogged.

Hey, bikers are AWESOME.

These guys are amazing people.

We exist as a body of Bikers to empower children to not feel afraid of the world in which they live. We stand ready to lend support to our wounded friends by involving them with an established, united organization. We work in conjunction with local and state officials who are already in place to protect children. We desire to send a clear message to all involved with the abused child that this child is part of our organization, and that we are prepared to lend our physical and emotional support to them by affiliation, and our physical presence. We stand at the ready to shield these children from further abuse. We do not condone the use of violence or physical force in any manner, however, if circumstances arise such that we are the only obstacle preventing a child from further abuse, we stand ready to be that obstacle.”Nice.
